Kamala Harris concert rallies: Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Jon Bon Jovi, more perform

Lady Gaga sang "God Bless America" and "Edge of Glory" at Kamala Harris' Philadelphia event on Monday night, addressing the audience of swing state voters, "The country is depending on you."

Gaga was one of the many celebrity guests at Harris' multi-city event on election night, which also included performances by Katy Perry, Jon Bon Jovi, Christina Aguilera, and others in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Detroit, Las Vegas, and Milwaukee.

"For more than half of this country's life, women didn't have a voice," Gaga said the audience after performing the patriotic ballad. "Yet we raised children, we held our families together, we supported men as they made the decisions — but tomorrow, women will be a part of making this decision."

She continued, "Today, I'm remembering all of the strong, feisty women who helped shape me into the person I am. I voted for a president who will represent all Americans."

The pop sensation then introduced Doug Emhoff, who addressed the crowd about his wife's preparation for the White House. Oprah Winfrey followed him and introduced Will.i.am for his new song, "YES SHE CAN," before the vice president approached the stage for the evening's closing statement, telling the Philadelphia audience, "You will decide the outcome of this election, Pennsylvania."

Winfrey also emphasized the importance of Pennsylvania votes, where polls show Harris and Donald Trump even.

"If we don't show up tomorrow, it is entirely possible that we will not have the opportunity to ever cast a ballot again," Winfrey told reporters. "And let me be very clear: it is a mistake not to ensure that the people in your life have access to the polls. Deciding not to decide is a vote to allow others to determine your destiny."

Gaga reappeared after Harris spoke for an acoustic performance of "Edge of Glory," which extended the gathering past midnight, signaling the formal start of election day.

The lineup for Kamala Harris' star-studded performance had been kept under wraps for weeks. The musicians were then disclosed on Monday, not only for one musical event, but also for seven simultaneous concert rallies in battleground states.

The campaign's last attempt to mobilize voters before Election Day, the livestreamed Vote for Freedom rallies featured performances by the following artists: Jon Bon Jovi, The War and Treaty and Detroit Youth Choir in Detroit; Christina Aguilera, Los Tigres Del Norte, SOFI TUKKER in Las Vegas, with remarks by Eva Longoria; La Original Banda El Limón in Phoenix; Eric Benet at an event hosted by Tim and Gwen Walz in Milwaukee; and 2 Chainz, Anthony Hamilton, Ciara, and Joy of Jesse & Joy in Atlanta.

The main event, however, was two rallies held in Pennsylvania, with Harris making her first stop in Pittsburgh, where Katy Perry, Andra Day, and D-Nice performed, and ending her tour in Philadelphia, where the A-list lineup included Winfrey, Gaga, DJ Cassidy, Fat Joe, Ricky Martin, The Roots, Freeway, Just Blaze, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Jazmine Sullivan, and Adam Blackstone.

The 2024 election eve rallies came after a surge in Hollywood support for the vice president in the days leading up to November 5, including a Houston rally endorsement from heavyweight supporter Beyoncé, a Saturday Night Live appearance from Harris herself (which prompted NBC to give Donald Trump equal time on Sunday), and other high-profile endorsements from Harrison Ford, Jennifer Lawrence, and Will.i.am.

A senior campaign official recently discussed the impact of celebrities in getting out the vote for Harris, noting how the campaign's strategic use of DJs, videos, songs, and celebrities throughout Harris' campaign run speaks to both the hopeful and optimistic environment Harris seeks to create and helps to hammer home her message that "everyone has a place with us."

DJ Cassidy previously helped energize the Democratic National Convention with a one-of-a-kind roll call dance party, and Winfrey was a surprise speaker at the event.
