Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Her Divorce from Kanye West

In the latest episode of The Kardashians (aired February 13), Kim reflected on the pain and complexity of her breakup with Kanye West. Recalling the struggles of moving on from a relationship that no longer felt right, Kim expressed to Khloe, “That’s the hardest part... when you don’t foresee something happening that really changes a person’s personality,” she said. “And then they’re not the same person and you can’t ever get that person back—but you can’t live with the new person. I get it."

This candid exchange came after Khloe shared her own emotional experience with her split from Lamar Odom. Kim, who shares children North (11), Saint (9), Chicago (7), and Psalm (5) with Ye, explained that the decision to end her six-year marriage was not made lightly. “It’s tougher when you don’t want your marriage to end off of your personal reasons, but circumstances change that force your marriage to end,” Kim added. “When you weren’t planning on that and that’s not really the outcome you want—but there’s no other option, I think it makes it harder to get over.”

The Importance of Putting Kids First Amid Divorce

In a November 2023 interview with GQ, Kim highlighted the importance of supporting her children through the challenging time. "Ultimately, what matters is that kids feel loved and heard," Kim said. "You want to be sensitive because they're just kids, and it's hard to go through no matter what age."

She stressed that it’s important to navigate these changes in a way that children can understand, showing vulnerability without overwhelming them with negativity. "You have to make sure that you only go to a level that they can understand. It's okay to show a vulnerable side. You never go to a negative side."

Kim Kardashian Embraces Her Emotions

While Kim has learned to manage stress effectively, she admitted that she still allows herself to fully experience her emotions. "Just because I know how to manage my stress well doesn't mean that I don't feel the emotions," she said. "If I'm sad, of course I will cry and feel it."

Lessons Learned From Her Divorce

Looking back on her experience, Kim explained that she views every challenge as an opportunity for growth. "I look at everything as lessons," she said. "Things happen exactly the way that they are supposed to and take you exactly where you need to be. Even if it doesn't make sense at the time, it's leading you to a path."

Kim’s perspective on her divorce with Kanye West reflects her resilience and ability to move forward, emphasizing the importance of self-reflection and growth after difficult life changes.
